Minimalist style solid brass hair fork. This style hair stick is the perfect hair accessory for long hair. Smooth and sleek, the ends have been filed to where they are completely smooth. Great for putting the hair in a bun, French twist, and all those other styles where you need something to hold your hair in place.
This brass hair fork is hand crafted with 10 gauge red Brass. It is hammered to give it a bit of shimmer, and the hammering also strengthens the metal. I have done more hammering at the curved part, which adds texture and decoration to the part that is actually seen when being used. The hair fork pictured measures approximately 1 inch wide and 6 inches in length. I can make these in any length you need, so just select the length you want from the drop down menu.
I now offer choices regarding the shape of the ends of the hair fork. Choose from the drop down menu whether you want the ends flattened out, as shown in the photos, or left rounded.
This type of brass is Red Brass, which is also known as Jeweler#39;s Brass or Nu Gold Brass. The color of Red Brass is a very close match to 14K gold, which makes it a wonderful gold alternative. This brass is an alloy of 85% copper and 15% zinc.
To keep your brass pieces bright and shiny, you can polish it with a polishing cloth. You can store your brass pieces in a sealed bag or jewelry box with anti-tarnish strips, or I#39;ve also heard that putting a piece of chalk in your jewelry box can help to prevent tarnish. The chalk absorbs moisture, which is what causes metals like sterling silver, brass, and copper to tarnish.
